Utah Nurse Practitioners 2015 Board Candidates

Candidate for President

Dallen Ormond, Ph. D., MSN, BSN

I grew up in southern Utah. Graduated with BSN from UNLV, MS-FNP from BYU and PhD from OHSU. I have worked in almost every position in the hospital. I worked my way through nursing school first as an orderly, then anesthesia tech, then surgical tech. I worked as a nurse in the OR at the U of U until finishing my masters degree. I worked at Primary Children's Hospital in cardiology from 1999-2001. In 2001 I helped start Families First Pediatrics in South Jordan Utah where I have been ever since. I specialize in pediatrics and have a passion for pediatric obesity. My Phd specifically studied the physiological effects of obesity in children. I also serve as the practice financial administrator and have years of experience with insurance, billing and private practice obstacles for NP's. I enjoy physical fitness activities, particularly running and cross fit type training. I am married and have 4 children.

Candidates for UNP Board Membership (2 Positions)

Ann Haynes, MSN, BSN

I am interested in becoming more active in the NP community and in political action.  I thought working with the board would be a good step towards that goal.

Michelle Litchman, MS, FNP-BC

I am a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in diabetes care. I work at Wasatch Internal Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah and see patients both in the clinic and house call setting. I envisioned and co-developed the Diabetes Mixer, a social networking event for young adults with type 1 diabetes in Salt Lake City, Utah. I received my undergraduate degree from Weber State University and Master's degree from the University of Utah. I am currently enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Utah Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence to research the role of online social networking among individuals with diabetes.

Chris Singer, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

I am interested in running because I feel my experience as a Nurse Practitioner as well as having practiced in both urban and rural clinical settings will help me further the interests of all nurse practitioners in Utah.  I have developed many relationships as well in both rural and urban settings that I feel will be beneficial to helping Nurse Practitioners gain more respect, have more support, and enact new and better legislation to allow Nurse Practitioners to be better able to provide the quality care that we give, gain the respect we deserve, and improve compensation for the services we provide.  We need to be active as health care continues to evolve and ensure our place in the health care delivery system continues to grow and expand.

Daphne Solomon, DNP, APRN, FNP-C

Kelly Wosnik, FNP, NP-C

Candidate for Treasurer

Christopher Morgan, DNP, FNP-C

Chris Morgan lives in Cache Valley with his wife and three children. He is the owner of two NP group practices, Mountain View Urgent Care & Family Medicine and The Men's Health Clinic in Logan. He received his undergraduate ADN and BSN degrees from Weber State University. After working six years as an emergency room nurse, he continued his education at the University of South Alabama, earning both his MSN and DNP degrees in the dual-roll emergency/family nurse practitioner program. He is AANP board-certified as a family nurse practitioner and maintains certifications as an emergency nurse (CEN) and pediatric emergency nurse (CPEN). His clinical and research interests include orthopedic trauma, metabolic syndrome, and male hormone replacement therapy. He enjoys golfing, fishing and camping with his family.
