Call for Nominations for Board Positions

Utah nurse practitioners are amazing and wonderful! Sadly, there has been a steady decline in membership numbers and professional involvement in UNP. UNP represents your professional voice in Utah healthcare and legislation and without your continued support and involvement this could negatively impact us all. 

Please consider how you can support your state NP organization. This includes recruiting for membership, voicing your opinion on the issues, and helping to build better inter-professional relationships. 

UNP really needs help on its' Board and Committees. There are currently 3 Board Positions open. The time commitment for board activities is typically 2-4 hours a month. It can feel like it is one more responsibility in your busy life but if enough NPs step forward, then the work load is distributed and manageable.

Here is a description of the Board Positions:

President-Elect: This is a 4 year term. The first year is spent as President-Elect, the second year the candidate seamlessly succeeds to the office of President with guidance from the Immediate Past President, and the third year the candidate serves as Acting President independently. The 4th year role is as the Immediate Past President, acting as an advisor and support for the acting president.  

The President is responsible for quarterly board meeting scheduling and communication, overall management of the UNP association and direct coordination of committees and conferences. The president will assist and direct Board positions/members.

Secretary: This is a 4 year term. The Secretary is responsible for meeting minutes and distribution via email. Will upload to UNP Drive under ‘Board/Board Meetings’. The Secretary shall be a voting member of the Board. The Secretary is responsible for the email correspondence to the general web site and any needs identified by the Board.  The secretary also assists with the electronic board voting in conjunction with the Nominations Committee. Communications as assigned are also delegated to the secretary (DOPL, Board of Nursing, etc.)

Tech/Webmaster Board Member: This is a 2 year term. This position will work with the UNP Website management and posts, Google Ads, Tech Soup, G Suite/UNP Drive and User Management, Google Analytics, Access Development, Tech Soup, and MyUNP Discounts program, all of which are easily learned. These programs are monitored on a monthly or quarterly basis and determine how UNP can best serve Utah's NPs. This position works directly with the President and other committees within UNP and is an integral leadership role with meaningful awareness of the inner workings of UNP.
