Please notify your House Representative and Senator about the bill

Last year, we had a few legislators comment that they "never heard from any of their constituent Nurse Practitioners." It is truly imperative that a legislator knows about each bill from a NP perspective. Otherwise, they vote according to the limited information they have, some of which may be from an opposing opinion.  Also, we are looking for letters of support from physician colleagues, corporations, hospitals, etc., that indicate strong relationships with NPs and that communication between providers happens naturally in the course of our workday.

This bill has several co-sponsors (15+!). UNP invites all legislators to consider co-sponsoring (you can outrightly ask them once they are familiar with the C&R issue). Please see the attached talking points and documents and feel free to contact the Legislative Co-Chairs, the UNP President, or the President-Elect foor any questions or help. There is also more information on communicating with your legislators in the "Legislation" tab on the left of the website

Remember, NPs must represent themselves positively. Do not engage in negativity directed towards any other healthcare providers or your legislator, even if they are not supporting NP practice. Just stick to the facts and YOUR story. Share your experience with the C&R and why it isn't best practice for Utah consumers....your patients.

We are excited to think that this could be the year we complete removal of the C&R so that we can all focus on other healthcare issues. UNP thanks you for your help and engagement!
