UNP White Coat Day On The Hill

All nurse practitioners, nurses, and friends are invited to join UNP on Friday, February 6th, 2026, to advocate for our patients and healthcare initiatives. We will be featuring legislative updates, including the OPLR 6,000 hour RN experience recommendation, and advocacy for entrepreneurial NPs, legislation impacting Utah's healthcare landscape, and other issues affecting NP practice. 

Notes: Plan to arrive early for parking (very limited and will likely need to walk a bit). We HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAR POOLING!

Schedule

0745-9 am  Legislator Breakfast sponsored by UNP in the Board Room (opportunity to meet with legislators in a more relaxed atmosphere)

10-12 pm    Group Floor session attendance and communicating with personal legislators

12-2:30 pm  UNP Legislative Meeting and Policy Updates featuring specific legislators, UNP Board, and invited guests

STUDENTS and all NP friends are welcome to arrive at the Capitol at 10 am in lab coats, with stethoscopes, or with other visible identifiers to help legislators know that you are a nurse practitioner, nurse, or student. We plan to be announced in both the House and Senate, letting legislators know that NPs care about policy and advocacy, and are on the Hill. We will attend part of a floor session as groups.

Find your personal legislators (Google "District Map Utah" and enter your address) and message them before Feb 6th (text, email). Introduce yourself and ask to meet them that morning, before our UNP Legislative Meeting at noon (in the Board Room). We encourage all Colleges of Nursing students to attend. PLEASE MEET IN THE Capitol Building, lower level (The Hall of Governors) on the WEST side by the doors to organize groups, hand out UNP badges, and to offer quick instructions for the morning.
