Nick currently serves as the Board Member/Membership Liaison.
Nick Stucki MS, FNP grew up in West Jordan, UT then moved down to St. George, UT, where he graduated from Snow Canyon high school. Nick then went on to UNLV and SUU were he received a bachelor’s degree in Biology with honors. Nick was then accepted to Graceland University, in Lamonia, Iowa where he graduated with honors as a Nurse Practitioner. He felt that it was his turn to become more active in local legislation and turned to UNP, excited to learn more and contribute.
Nick has a strong background in nephrology and critical care. While going to school, Nick’s previous work experience includes working in critical care for the hospital and as a dialysis nurse. Nick is married to Renae and they have three kids. He enjoys spending time with his family which includes watching and coaching his kids play sports, camping, traveling, and snow skiing.
Board Secretary Nominee
Gary currently serves as the Board Secretary.
Gary began his career as a nurse at St Mark's Hospital many years ago working on a multi-specialty unit as an associate degree nurse. During his tenure at St. Marks, Gary obtained his BSN degree, and focused on occupational health nursing. He worked at the Idaho National Laboratory and the Naval Nuclear Laboratory for over 25 years. It was during this time, Gary completed his masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
For the past four and a half years, Gary has worked as the Corporate Occupational Health Nurse and Workers' Compensation Manager for EnergySolutions in Salt Lake City, Utah. For the past two years, he has also been serving as the company's occupational health nurse practitioner.
Gary feels it is important to belong to the UNP to educate and expand the Utah nurse practitioner practice and role. He particularly enjoys the UNP Pharmacology Conferences. Gary states, "It is also great to know that the UNP organization is looking out for my well being as an NP to provide lobbying efforts to further advance my emerging career as an NP."
Awards and Scholarship Council Nominee
Michael has a masters of science degree from Brigham Young University ('13) and his doctorate degree from Oregon Health and Science University ('16). He began his FNP practice in family medicine in Coquille, Oregon (rural coast) and then moved back to Utah. He continued to practice family medicine ,until recently, when he made a change to part-time dermatology.
Michael was recently hired as a full-time assistant teaching professor at Brigham Young University where he teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. He and his wife are the proud parents of three children.
Michael wants to serve on the council to help recognize Utah nurse practitioners for their excellence in practice, research, leadership, and teaching. It is so important in these challenging times to encourage and uplift each other. He is excited to support and encourage nurse practitioner students and to help with the UNP scholarship program.
