Membership to Bylaws Vote

December 9, 2011 

The amendment to the Bylaws is as follows: 

To the Bylaws of Association of Utah Nurse Practitioners
A Utah Nonprofit Corporation 
Adoption by the Board of Directors on November 2, 1010 

Under Article 1: Offices 

Section 1.3 Memberships 

Active membership in good standing, in all categories, is contingent on annual payment of dues 

Section 1: Full Membership shall be an Advanced Practice Nurse who has successfully completed and education program and maintain certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a nationally approved certifying body. Full Members shall have the right to vote. Full members desiring to seek state UNP board office must be a full member in good standing for the previous 12 months. 

Section 2: Student members 

1.       Student members enrolled in an entry-level program for advanced practice preparation Category 1 student members may have all the benefits of student full membership and are not eligible to vote. 
 

2.       Student members who are recognized NP’s returning to school for further education. Category 2 Student members wishing to seek office must convert to full member status to be eligible and are eligible to vote. 

Section 3: Retired members shall be NP’s who have retired from the NP practice. Retired members shall have the right to vote. Retired members may not hold UNP board office. 

Section 4: Limited members shall be any person who is not an NP but is interested in fostering the mission of the organization. Limited or associated members do not have the right to vote or hold office.
