Job Description

This position will work in the Heart Failure Prevention and Treatment Program within the CV clinical program at Intermountain Medical Center to provide care to patients with heart failure including medical management and advanced therapies including heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support. The APC will join three cardiologists who specialize in heart failure and six other advanced practice clinicians.

The practitioner will serve as the provider for heart failure patients both in outpatient clinic and the inpatient setting. This APC will work closely in collaboration with other cardiology practitioners, CV intensivists, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, residents, fellows, researchers, nurses and support staff.

Education and clinical training will be given in the area of heart failure, heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support. The practitioner will be responsible for clinical care and patient education reflecting a standard approach to care and philosophy of this team.

This position requires taking calls from out patients and coverage of one weekend in every six on the inpatient service.

Minimum Requirements
Current state license as a Nurse Practitioner
Eligible for state Controlled Substance License II through V
Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V
This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn.

Hearing/Listening, Manual Dexterity, Lifting, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a cardiovascular setting
